There are still many difficult people in Korea. Because everyone has their own circumstances. Because there are cases where it is inevitable to maintain a livelihood due to physical problems or mental abnormalities. When a family member suddenly dies due to an accident or illness, it can be difficult to make a decent living. At that time, there are several systems to be supported by the state, and “basic livelihood recipients” is a related system.
Today, it is an honor to know the economy and let’s take a look at the conditions for basic livelihood recipients in 2022.
What is a Basic Livelihood Recipient?
It refers to the low-income class with low economic income, and refers to 30-50% of the median income. We talk a lot about median income, but it refers to a case in which the national household income is divided to apply the salary standard. According to the median income, it is divided into four categories: livelihood benefit, medical benefit, housing benefit, and education benefit. In other words, you must be 30-50% of the median income to be eligible for Basic Livelihood Recipient. However, since the median income per household varies from year to year, it is important to start with the median income.
There are four types of pay.
Livelihood benefits are 30% or less, medical benefits are 40% or less, housing benefits are 45% or less, and education benefits are 50% or less. Since the standard for those who are obligated to support livelihood benefits has been abolished since October 21, it may be helpful for those who have not applied for livelihood benefits because of the standard for dependents. You can apply for the Basic Livelihood Recipient at the community center having jurisdiction over your address. There is no special period, so you can apply at an appropriate time. There may be necessary documents, so it is better to call the local community center in advance to find out what documents are required.
