How to convert Kakao Pay points into cash
If you have accumulated points through Kakao Pay, you can use them more like cash by converting them to cash.

Kakao Pay points can be added to the payment amount when purchasing items online or offline, but it is not possible to transfer them to an account like Kakao Pay. You can’t transfer money to another bank account.
Additionally, 1 Kakao Pay point is worth 1 won, but it is difficult to cash out 100% of the accumulated points when converting to cash.
Moreover, since this cash conversion service is not supported within Kakao Pay, you must use another method to cash out points.

Kakao Pay point accumulation and cash conversion

One way to cash out Kakao Pay points is by using the Gift to Me feature. To be precise, this is a method of converting a gift that has passed its expiration date into cash.
After selecting a gifticon through KakaoTalk gift, pay with Kakao Pay points and send the purchased gifticon as a gift.
Gifts received as gifts can be returned in cash after the expiration date, excluding a 10% fee.
Since the expiration date is rather long, unless you urgently need to cash out, please use Gift to Me to convert an expired gift into cash.
Cash out Kakao Pay points after purchasing a gift certificate
Those who have accumulated a lot of Kakao Pay points can cash them out by purchasing a gift certificate, sending it as a gift, and then exchanging the gift certificate for a paper gift certificate.
The gift certificate sent to me may be exchanged for a second-hand transaction or a local gift certificate, and a 10% commission may be incurred for this as well.
Since Kakao Pay points have limited uses, if you have no place to use them, it may be better to pay the fee and cash them out.
