(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Lim Seong-ho = Korea Transportation Safety Authority announced on the 8th that it is recruiting the ‘2024 Traffic Safety Public Interest Reporting Group’ where citizens can directly find traffic law violations by motorcycles and other two-wheeled vehicles.
The authority plans to recruit a total of 5,000 people nationwide this year. If you want to participate in the report group, you can apply through the authority’s website.
The report group can report not only serious traffic law violations such as crossing the center line, but also violations of laws by two-wheeled vehicles such as driving on the sidewalk, not wearing a safety helmet, and covering or damaging the license plate through the Safety Reporting Center or the National Reporting Center.
A reward of 4,000 to 8,000 won per report (up to 20 cases per month) will be paid.
The reporting team reported a total of 743,720 cases of illegal motorcycle activities since its introduction in May 2020 until the end of last year.
The number of reports has been increasing every year, from 47,000 cases in 2020, 196,000 cases in 2021, 233,000 cases in 2022, and 266,000 cases last year.
