I heard there are two 24-hour cafes near Songtan Branch Office in Seojeong-dong, Pyeongtaek-si, Gyeonggi-do. One was Tom&Toms Songtan branch, and the other was Caffe Bene Songtan branch. When I looked it up on the map, the two were practically next to each other. If two places are next to each other, there is a very high probability that they will be silent. Of course, I’ve never been to the Songtan branch office, but no matter how much I thought about it, I didn’t think there would be two 24-hour cafes in Songtan, or even a downtown area with two 24-hour cafes next to each other.
I went here and called everyone because it would have been a disaster if it wasn’t a 24-hour cafe. However, strangely, Caffe Bene Songtan Branch could not be reached by phone.

Since I was sure about one place, I went to Songtan Station. Looking at the map, I went to where the Songtan branch office was. I don’t know what the Songtan branch office is, but I went there anyway.

Tom&Toms Songtan branch and Caffe Bene Songtan branch were closely connected. I approached the front of Cafe Bene Songtan Branch, which I couldn’t confirm was open 24 hours a day.

I was really fortunate. It wasn’t clear yet, but since the two were close, if the Cafe Bene Songtan branch was closed when I left the Tom & Toms Songtan branch later, I could just go back to the Tom & Toms Songtan branch.

In a place like this where there are two 24-hour cafes next to each other, you are sure to see some drunk people and a lot of cars, but the streets were surprisingly clean. There were no people or trash.
I visited 80 cafes 24 hours a day and wandered around the metropolitan area. But this was my first time in a place like this. It was a moment when the stereotypes created through my experience were broken.
Strangely, it wasn’t that there were no people at all. People who looked to be from high school to early college were walking around the streets from time to time. When I saw them walking around like this, it was similar to Uijeongbu at 3 in the morning. Even in Uijeongbu, there are not many people in the downtown area around 3 am. In Uijeongbu, it’s around 12 o’clock and people who want to play more go out to places like Nowon or Suyu. So the number of people walking around on the streets was almost the same as in Uijeongbu.
First, I decided to go to a place called ‘Songtan Branch Office’. I was curious as to why they built a branch office in Songtan and called it a Songtan branch office.

Why on earth is there a 24-hour cafe here?
It reminded me of when I was in Malta. When I was in Malta in 2009, all the clubs in Malta had to close at 3am. At 3 a.m., people would leave the club, disperse and go home. Sometimes, there were places that were closed and operated in secret. What is it? First of all, it seemed like business here was almost completely over.
Would it be a little different on the weekend? But then, it would only be open 24 hours on weekends. In fact, it was written on the door that Holly’s Coffee in the special tourist zone was open that way. In any case, it is clear that they operate 24 hours a day because there is demand at night, so they can extract labor costs and various utility bills.

Except for Itaewon, 4 a.m. is a time when you almost have to fly away.
