카카오페이 교통카드Few people carry a wallet these days, right? In my case, I put several cards in a smartphone case instead of a wallet and use it instead of a wallet.

However, as I have been using local currency lately, I had no choice but to get a few more local currency cards issued and carry them with me, so I replaced the existing transportation card with a Kakao Pay transportation card.

It is said that Kakao Pay, which went public a few weeks ago, soared more than twice the public offering price.

So I searched for a transportation card function in Kakao Pay, and there is a transportation card function. Let’s find out how to use the Kakao Pay transportation card together.

The NFC payment method is a method in which transportation expenses are paid by placing a smartphone on a card reader on a bus or subway.

This is a convenient feature that allows you to pay transportation expenses immediately as long as your smartphone is turned on without having to open the transportation card screen separately.

The Kakao Pay transportation card is a convenient transportation card that does not require separate management as it can be automatically recharged from a connected account when the balance is insufficient without charging fees.

KakaoPay transportation cards can be issued through the KakaoTalk app that we often use.

If you press the 3 dots on the bottom right of KakaoTalk’s main screen, you will see various menus as shown in the picture on the right. Click Kakao Pay at the top of the screen.

If you select All from the Kakao Pay menu and scroll all the way down, you will see the mobile transportation card menu in the sub-menu of the payment section. Press the corresponding mobile transportation card menu.

Then, you will be connected to the main screen of the mobile transportation card. If you look at the bottom of the screen, you will see a yellow menu called ‘Issuing a mobile transportation card’. Click the ‘Issue Mobile Transportation Card’ button.

As soon as you press the ‘Issue mobile transportation card’ button, you will receive a message that the transportation card has been issued. Card numbers, issuance types, and brief descriptions of mobile transportation cards are provided.

To use the KakaoPay mobile transportation card, the NFC function must be turned on. On the essential check screen before use, press the ‘Settings’ button of Turn on NFC setting to access the NFC setting screen.

When connected to the NFC setting screen, press the ‘Use’ button on the top to activate the NFC function. Then, return to the previous screen and press the ‘use as a basic transportation card’ button at the bottom of the screen.

Then, the issuance of the Kakao Pay mobile transportation card is complete. But the balance is 0 won. It is possible to charge manually at that time, but setting it to charge automatically is a way to prevent a situation where you are busy charging on a busy commute.

Then click the ‘Automatic recharge without fee’ button under the card number.

On the automatic recharge setting screen, set how much you want to recharge when the balance is below how much, select a linked account, and press the ‘use’ button at the bottom of the screen to complete the automatic recharge setting.

In the case of T-money or Cashbee, which were used a lot in the past, it was difficult to get a refund even if there was a balance left, but with Kakao Pay, you can get a refund at any time after deducting a 500 won fee.

The income deduction rate for public transportation expenses is a whopping 40%, boasting the largest deduction rate among income deduction items. This is a system for revitalizing public transportation. If you press the 3 dots at the top of the Kakao Pay transportation card screen and click Register for Income Deduction, you will be connected to the Cashbee page window. If you enter your name and resident registration number here, you will automatically receive income deduction. Your application is complete.

You cannot use the Kakao Pay transportation card on iPhone. Since NFC cannot be used on the iPhone due to its own security problem, it is not possible to use KakaoPay Kyotong Card or any payment method that uses the NFC function.

Above, we looked at how to use the Kakao Pay transportation card, which allows you to use public transportation using the NFC function of a smartphone without a physical card, and whether it can be used on iPhone.

If you have trouble carrying a physical transportation card, please use the Kakao Pay transportation card. It’s very convenient
