인터넷 속도 측정 KTOn the 1st, ‘Issup’ posted on Facebook that he was in a dispute with KT because he was using 10GB internet and was getting 100MB speeds. Then, on the 17th, he uploaded a video about it on his YouTube.
KT’s 10GB internet plan costs 88,000 won per month and is the most expensive internet plan provided by KT. 100 megabits of Internet is the speed equivalent to the 22,000 won plan.
‘Itsup’ said that he checked the internet equipment considering the possibility of other device problems, but there were no problems, and that there had been a history of internet speeds lower than 10GB in the past.
As suspicions are rising that KT is intentionally slowing down internet speeds, anxiety is spreading that the internet used at home may also be provided with lower internet speeds compared to the rate plan.
An easy way to check your internet speed is to use the internet quality measurement test provided on each telecommunication company’s website.
YouTuber ‘Issup’ also discovered speed slowdowns through an internet speed test provided by KT, and internet SLA quality can also be confirmed at SK and LG. SLA stands for Internet Quality Assurance Standard.
Another method is to use the Internet speed measurement service provided by the Korea Intelligence and Information Society Agency (NIA) website.
This service measures Internet speed by entering the telecommunication company, Internet product, and region you are using. It is also released as a mobile phone application and provides a wireless Internet speed measurement service.
