Apple TV+ is a streaming service that allows you to watch various original content such as popular series, interesting dramas, documentaries, comedies, and children’s content. Currently, competitive OTT services are dominating Korea, and although the number of contents is not large, the market share is relatively low, but it has a considerable number of users.
Those who have not used it yet may be curious about what content there is. Like other OTT or streaming services, there is a method of using it for free for a certain period of time, so I will tell you how to do it and how to cancel your subscription.
Then, the first way to use Apple TV for free is to purchase an Apple device. For example, the representative Apple device is the iPhone. The iPhone 15 Pro, which I purchased right after its release last year, also includes a 3-month free trial of Apple TV+ as a ‘service included in the purchase’ as above.
If you purchase a new device, it is provided 100%, so anyone can use it. It doesn’t tell you separately, but it reminds you once in a while when you use the app, notifications, or settings. However, there is something you must be careful about: there is a ‘period’. You must apply for the free benefit provided within 90 days of purchase to use it for free for 3 months.
In my case, since I use two devices, I forgot about it and received a notification saying ‘There is not much time left’ as above, so I hurriedly applied for it almost at 90 days. When you run the Apple TV app, you will see the content that says you can start the free trial as above.
If I explain the actual application process, if you click the blue button at the bottom that says ‘3 months free trial’, the same screen as when you download the app will appear as above. You can start the subscription by checking the content carefully and double-clicking the button on the right side. Of course, it will be converted to a paid service after 3 months, so if you no longer want to use Apple TV +, you can cancel it before then.
The second way to use Apple TV for free is to use the ‘7-day free trial’ that is short but can be used by anyone once. If you sign up for membership, you can watch for free for 7 days. After the trial period ends, you can use it for 6,500 won per month. Of course, you can share it with your family.
The last third way is to use a service called Apple One. Apple One is a package that allows you to use three of the various services provided by Apple at a low price. You can use it because Apple One provides a one-month free trial.
Then, I will tell you the process of canceling Apple TV+ during the trial period or during paid use if you do not like it or do not want to use it for some reason.
First, if you want to know ‘Am I currently using a paid service?’ or ‘How much time is left?’, you can check it in the settings.
Go to Settings and touch the profile at the top to check the detailed information as above. From here, go to the ‘Subscription’ menu.
In ‘Subscription’, you can see information about the services you are currently using at a glance. You can see which services you are using and how much they cost, and the renewal date is displayed so you can cancel before payment without forgetting.
If you want to cancel Apple TV among these, touch the list and go in.
Then, detailed information will appear as above. You can see what you are currently using and how long you can use it. If you look at the bottom, you can select ‘Cancel Free Trial’ or ‘Cancel Subscription’ in red.
So far, we have explained three ways to use Apple TV + for free and the cancellation process. In particular, if you have purchased a new Apple device, it is provided to anyone, and if you do not apply within the 90-day period, the benefit will disappear, so don’t forget to use it~
