Social worker continuing education
Continuing education for social workers is education to improve the capabilities and professionalism of social workers through re-establishing social workers’ ethics, the latest knowledge related to social welfare, and training that can be practiced in the field. Failure to receive continuing education will result in a fine.
Recipients of social worker continuing education
– Social workers by grade: Social workers working at social welfare corporations or social welfare facilities
– Social workers by field: Workers engaged in social worker work in medical institutions and schools, etc.
In the case of social workers by grade, they are required to complete at least 8 points per year, and must score at least 1 point in the required areas, and must complete at least 1 point in one subject among social welfare practice, social welfare policy and law, social welfare administration, and social welfare research. . If you have not completed the required areas even though you have completed 8 GPA or more per year, this will be considered as failure to complete continuing education, so please be sure to check and complete it.
We would like to inform you that social workers in each field must complete at least 12 GPA per year and must complete at least 4 hours of training hosted by the Korean Association of School Social Workers and the Korean Association of Medical Social Workers.

You can apply for the 24th year of social worker continuing education through the online center on.welfare.net.
Social worker continuing education period: 2024.03.28 ~ 05.29
Number of refresher training sessions: 42 total (5 real-time training / 12 online recorded training / 25 offline training)
Continuing education fee: 56,000 won
Fine for failure to complete continuing education
– A fine of 200,000 won is imposed for failure to complete continuing education in violation of the proviso to Article 13, Paragraph 2 of the Social Welfare Service Act.
– A fine of 1 million won is imposed in case of unfavorable disposition due to continuing education in violation of Article 13 (3) of the Social Welfare Service Act.
